Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol with a sweet taste which the human body metabolizes slowly. Sorbitol 70% solution is colorless, transparent, thick liquid. Most sorbitol is made from corn syrup, but it is also found in nature, for example in apples, pears, peaches, and prunes.

 

Sorbitol is about 0.5-0.7 times as sweet as sucrose,with low calories and does not convert to glucose in the blood and is not affected by insulin. Sorbitol has good moisturizing properties. Can make toothpaste, food and other products to maintain a certain amount of water, prevent drying. Can be used as preservative, humectant, sweetener and food flavor preserving agent.
